This Saturday, join Philly musical faves for an old-school meets new-school socially-distanced youth voter registration house party. Request hits from your living room all evening while helping us meet our goal of registering 10,000 new voters. That’s right—10k! We’ll throw it back with 90s-inspired fashion statements and tunes while moving the needle forward on voter participation in Philly and beyond. And wrap it all up in time for the just-announced TV special, Graduate Together: America Honors the Class of 2020!
The legendary DJ Diamond Kuts will start the party. North Philly rapper LGP Qua will come on as host, who will connect with guests to answer the question, “Why do you vote that jawn?” Meanwhile, young (and older) folks will be texting friends from home to register online using the Rock the Vote app on the www.VoteThatJawn.com website. Texts will flow, along with music from jazz/hip hop cellist Aijee Evans, DJ Bobby Flowers (formerly DJ Lean Wit It), and 12-year-old DJSophiaRocks. At the end of the party, DJ Jazzy Jeff will come on to spin for the last hour while registrations pour in.
